It's been a while since I had to use table controls but last time I simply found a standard transaction with similar functionality and then analyzed the code in it. And I doubt even a standard transaction exists where a cell becomes editable simply by selecting a row, so this might not be a realistic expectation. You might want to clarify what exactly is the purpose and why do you have to use the table control and not ALV, for example.
