Re: Including Character set more than 60 in BI Report

Hi Syed,

Rene has referenced a very nice document that explains well how a long text can be stored in BW. Generally when we need to show long text in BW, we do it as follows:

We create a characteristic having master data and no text.

We add as many attributes as required for the long text (each attribute 60 chars, so if you need a long text 150 you should create 3 attributes for 180 chars.)

After loading master data to this characteristic, in the query we add the characteristic with its attributes selected. We select no display in Display pane (if you need to show key, you can select that too).

That is all we do.

In the report this characteristic is shown in x columns (x: as many attributes as there are)

In filter pane it is also shown like that.
