I totally agreed with you it is hard to know if sp_flushstats has been issued from dump file !
My previous experience is not so happy on XPDL, my solution is to lock all user logins and put user database in single user mode, then execute 'sp_flushstats' and dump database again to solve it !
It is time consuming task, but that is only way to solve the cross-platform dump/load problem at this moment !!
BTW, If there is no any record in ASE errorlog, I will still suggest client to check systabstats system table to get some helpful information !!
