With regard to Transport Industry (Express Delivery), labor suppliers especially, the Uniform (main operating cost), customer have two requirements on this kind of "material":
1. After a predefined time duration, say 3 years, the courier is able to apply a new uniform and dispose the old one.
2. Once courier leaving the company within 3 years, he should return his uniform back and this uniform reentering to the stock again.
My question is how can we manage this kind of non-fixed asset in the system from "life-cycle" perspective? What kind of industry can I refer to for such business needs...
What I am thinking is developing a customized table to record the requisitions of uniform (requisition time, requisition person, etc.). When this uniform return back to the stock due to the owner courier resigns from the company, store this uniform in a special stock (stock re-valuation???, impact to the MAP???), and indicate the record in the customized table is deleted. Until this second hand uniform be picked by another courier, a new record will be documented in this customized table.
BUT, customer hopes we can offer an SAP standard solution to meet this needs. What comes up in my mind is activate "Serial Number" to record the transactions but I am not so sure how to address this requirement...
